Grace Millane 22yrs old murdered in Aukland New Zealand. It is still not clear what happened but a man is in custody to be charged with murder. Like Iulianna Tudos in Finsbury Park? Or Celia Barquin in Iowa US?
The preferred narrative of these stories is of ugly bad men killing pretty white women. Which excludes victims of colour and ethnicity.
One idea is that it is male posessiveness of women. The entitlement to own and dominate women appears powerful. 
Femicide the murder of women or girls across the world. A real problem still perpetuated by us all – not just bad men.
If living in a patriarchy is to be believed – men are brought up expecting to have power and control over women. By a multitude of small gestures and actions a view of women is constructed to be less than.
Some men believe we do not live in a patriarchy. Men are perceived to be losing status and power in this time. This is true in an attempt for equality. No human likes a loss of power or status.
Cries of unfairness and foul play begin!
The nature of power is dangerous: and nobody wants to lose it.
